Scoring guide

What is the maximum BC PNP score?

Skills Immigration registration has a maximum of 200: experience 40, education 40, language 40, hourly wage 55 and location 25. This estimates a registration score, not Express Entry CRS.

How are experience and education scored?

Use full-time equivalent related experience from the past 10 years: more than zero but under one year earns 1 point; the one-to-five-year bands earn 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20. An eligible Canadian year and current full-time work for the supporting BC employer each add 10. Highest education earns 0–27; completing that credential in BC adds 8, or elsewhere in Canada adds 6, never both. An eligible professional designation adds 5.

How do language and wage points work?

Use the lowest of four skills on a valid test, then the stronger English or French test. CLB 4–9+ earns 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. Both languages at 4+ add 10. Wages below CAD 16 earn zero; each whole dollar from 16 to 69 earns another point, and CAD 70+ earns 55. Elementary and secondary teachers use 30 weekly hours when converting annual salary under the guide.

Who gets the regional bonus?

Metro Vancouver Regional District is Area 1 (0); Squamish, Abbotsford, Agassiz, Mission and Chilliwack are Area 2 (5); other BC locations are Area 3 (15). Area 2/3 can add at most 10 for an eligible year of work outside Metro Vancouver within five years, OR an eligible program at a public BC institution outside Metro Vancouver within three years, at least eight months/two semesters, while living outside Metro Vancouver. Language, distance-learning and practicum periods do not meet that alumni requirement.

Does meeting a draw score mean I qualify?

No. Stream eligibility, employer, job offer, occupation and draw-specific conditions still apply. Visits trigger an automatic update check; successful results are cached for one hour. If fetching fails, the page identifies the older cache or verified snapshot and its check date.
