Firstory is provided by CLOUDDREAM TECHNOLOGIES INC.. This policy explains how the app handles the information you provide.
Effective date: October 17, 2026Adult guardians and authorized caregivers use Firstory to record a child’s care and growth. Children do not need an account, and the app is not a public social service for children. Only provide or share information about a child or another family member when you have authority to do so.
Free on-device use does not require an account. Care records and a single cover photo are stored on your phone. Optional family sharing requires a verified account and sends the selected family’s information to our service. Authorized members can view or record information according to their roles. Keep invitation codes private and invite only people who should have access.
Records are saved on the phone first, and synchronization is attempted when connectivity returns.
Account identifiers, email addresses, sessions, and device names support sign-in, family permissions, and device management. Baby profiles, dates of birth, gestational weeks, care times, feeding and pumping quantities, freezer inventory, measurements, vaccination, allergy and illness notes, supplement plans, milestones, activities, and written content support recordkeeping, summaries, reminders, export, and the family sharing you choose.
When you choose a cover photo, the app crops and re-encodes it, removing original EXIF and similar metadata. The app does not currently upload memory photos or videos. Apple transaction identifiers, products, validity periods, and family attribution are used to verify subscriptions and handle renewals, restoration, and refunds. We never receive your payment-card details.
Necessary request information is processed for sign-in, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. Operational logs use limited fields and do not contain care-note text, email addresses, or tokens. Logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
The microphone and speech recognition are used only when you start voice input and are released when it stops. Apple Speech performs recognition and, depending on language, device, and system conditions, may use Apple’s servers. The app does not upload audio recordings; text you confirm can be saved as care content.
Location is used only when you start walk-route recording. With your permission, recording can continue while the screen is locked, and ending the walk stops it. You can record walk duration without location access. Photos are chosen through the system picker, and notifications follow the reminders you set. You can withdraw permissions in iOS Settings and keep recording care manually.
Authorized members of your in-app family can access shared information. To operate the app we use Apple (accounts, speech, maps, and payments), Cloudflare (API and private storage), Neon (database), and Resend (verification email).
These providers may process information outside your country. The family-sharing database is located in the United States (Neon, AWS US West, Oregon), requests pass through Cloudflare’s global network, and verification emails are sent by Resend. We do not sell child care information, use it for advertising tracking, or use health information for ad targeting. We will update this policy before using information for a new purpose.
You can export records, correct information, delete on-device data, and request account deletion in Account and Family management. A sole administrator must first transfer administrative access or choose to delete the families they solely administer. Shared family records may remain available to other members after the deleted account’s attribution is removed.
Account deletion includes revoking Sign in with Apple authorization and erasing related data. We complete deletion within 7 days of your request; accounts without photos or videos are usually deleted immediately, and the app shows a deletion receipt. We keep minimal deletion markers, which contain no care content, so other devices do not upload deleted records again.
Cancelling a subscription does not delete your data, and deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription; manage renewals in Apple’s subscription settings. On-device records are included in your iPhone’s encrypted backups. Uninstalling the app deletes on-device records, so back up or export before changing phones, or turn on family sharing.
The app uses device secure storage and encrypted local files, and our cloud service uses HTTPS with account and family access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, email, and Apple Account, and remove members or devices that no longer need access. You can decline optional permissions and keep using free on-device recording without family sharing.
To access, correct, or delete your information, or to ask a question or make a complaint, contact info@tech.clouddream.ca. We respond within 30 days. If we make significant changes to how information is used or shared, we will update this page and its effective date and ask for consent again where required.
